Mike is an award winning accomplished composer, producer and keyboardist/programmer. His wide variety of work ranges from rock and pop (Tinie Tempah, Smiler, Lana Del Rey, Jack Savoretti, Natalie Imbruglia, Alex James (Blur), Betty Boo, Robbie Craig, John Wetton and Lesley Garrett) to programming countless West End Shows including Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats, Chess, Phantom Of The Opera and The Sound Of Music, Cameron Mackintosh’s Les Miserables, Mary Poppins and Miss Saigon, Trevor Lawrence’s Porgy And Bess, Michael Jackson’s Thriller Live, The Beatles’ Let It Be and Victoria Wood and Julie Walter’s Acorn Antiques.

He was a founder member of the rock band PALLAS.

He has also worked in the classical field with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, London Brompton Oratory Choir, and has also written extensively for TV, film and advertising, most notably Aardman Animations’ double BAFTA Award winning “Timmy Time” which is now shown daily in over 180 countries worldwide and is in 99 million American homes, 1.3 billion Chinese homes, the theme tune of which is also currently the entrance music to The Tim Conway Jr. Show” on USA radio KFI AM 640 in Los Angeles. He has also composed music for the Oscar nominated, award winning short film “Gone Fishing”.

The title track from his Celtic album, This Land” (EMI), was adopted as Ireland’s national anthem for the 5 Nations Rugby tribute at Cardiff Arms Park where 100 dancers performed to it on National TV.

He was one of the first composers to be asked to join the Audio Network Ltd library company which has now won two Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in International Trade for 2012 and Innovation in 2008.

Mike started playing the piano at 10 years of age and then clarinet where, alongside Annie Lennox on flute, he played in the Aberdeen Schools Orchestra. Prior to finishing school he had performed as soloist on Concertino for Clarinet & String Orchestra by Tartini at the Music Hall, Aberdeen, won many piano and clarinet competitions and awards and passed Associated Board exams with distinction.

He has done session work and toured the world with Boney M, Rose Royce, Shalamar, The Real Thing, Sister Sledge, etc. playing at many of the world’s finest venues including the Royal Albert Hall, London, appeared on numerous national and international TV and radio shows.
